Feedback and bug reporting

Thank you for trying out this new website.

Feedback would be much appreciated, especially if you think you see any bugs/errors. Please either post here or email me at ken@millerboileau.com. It would be helpful to know what page you were on when the error occurred, what you were trying to do, any content you were trying to add, and the text of any errors. It would also be appreciated if you could include a screenshot (hit the PrtScn button on your keyboard, open Paint (if you're operating on Windows), then paste the screenshot into Paint, save, and then attach the file here or email it to me).

I would also be interested in hearing about whether any pages were confusing or too complicated, whether you had any trouble finding anything, or any other ideas you have.

Thank you in advance!

As a new lawyer, I just want to say thank you so much for putting this website together. There are scarce resources for new lawyers in small firms, often without an assistant. This really helps to fill some of the gaps, especially from a precedent and checklist perspective -- invaluable. If you have anything more on Questioning and running your first trial, that would be fantastic.

Thanks for the kind words Carolyn! Here are a few resources on Questionings and Trials:
  • LESA had a Family Law Trial Fundamentals seminar last fall that I very highly recommend. You can phone them to order the papers, or view the Seminar on Demand online.

  • The Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association has put out some excellent general seminars on trials and Questionings. If you phone them, you can order the binders from those seminars. The papers give a great overview.

  • I have a List of common Objections and Evidentiary Issues one-page reference that I place on the inside of my binder for all Questionins and trials, so that I can continually refresh my memory about what I need to be watching out for.

  • I have a Questioning Template that I use to prepare questions. It could also help prepare for trials. It's just a starting point though, you don't want to stick to the "script" if the answers you're getting warrant that you look further.

  • I have attached some of my older personal notes relating to Questionings to this comment. They're by no means comprehensive, but they could help.

Hope this helps!

Hello Ken

I have tried to download a couple of PDFs and I am getting unsafe website reports. I do not get the same report for the word format files. Is this an issue generally, or is it just me?

Hello, when I try to download any type of document from the website I get a message that Microsoft has reported the website unsafe and recommends that it no longer be used. Has anyone else had this problem?
