Edmonton Family & Youth Resumption Protocol Effective June 14, 2021

Danielle Collins
  Latitude Family Law LLP
   Edmonton, Alberta

***THIS EMAIL IS BEING SENT ON BEHALF OF ACJ VEYLAN***

Good afternoon Everyone,

Please see the attached Edmonton Family & Youth Resumption Protocol dated June 14, 2021, which is in effect for Edmonton and the six Edmonton Regional locations which we serve.

The most significant change is that all interim hearings and trials will proceed in person as scheduled: there is no longer an “in-custody“ test for Youth Criminal trials nor an “urgency“ test for Family or Child Protection interim hearings or trials. Dockets, case conferences, case management conferences, JDRs and pre-trial conferences remain remote.

There is no specific end date for this current resumption protocol: Chief and Council will continue to monitor ongoing public health announcements and Covid developments and will respond as circumstances warrant.
