***THIS IS BEING SENT ON BEHALF OF ACJ VEYLAN***

Family Docket SRL Pilot Project is set to launch this afternoon at 2 o’clock. The point of the pilot is to give self-represented litigants the capability to join family docket remotely by WebEx. The pilot will run for 2.5 months, from June 14 to the end of August. It will then be evaluated in September and a report tabled at the Chief & Council meeting in October.

We will continue to monitor demand and capacity, but at least for now the afternoon docket will be capped at 30 matters, and the list will not be split.

From today until the end of June, matters will not be scheduled into any particular time slot other than the regular 2:00 start for docket.

For the month of July, twenty matters will be scheduled for 2:00 and ten for 3:30, with a cap of thirty for the full afternoon.

For the month of August, six matters will be scheduled into each of five 1/2 hour time slots beginning at 2:00, resulting in a cap of 30 for the full afternoon. New matters will not be scheduled for a later 1/2 hour time slot until six matters have been scheduled for the preceding 1/2 hour slot.

In September we will revert to the June 14-30 unstructured afternoon, with a cap of 30 matters, while the pilot project is evaluated and our way forward is determined.
