November is Family Violence Prevention Month!

November is Family Violence Prevention Month in Alberta. It is a time to increase awareness of the resources and supports available so we can work together to end family violence and build healthier relationships in our communities.

This year’s theme #WhereToTurn informs people experiencing family violence that help is available. The Government of Alberta will focus on promoting the Family Violence Info Line, available 24/7 province-wide by phone (310-1818) or online chat (alberta.ca/SafetyChat). The line helps Albertans navigate through complex options to learn what’s available to them, including shelters, financial aid, legal aid and mental health services, and provides referrals to appropriate agencies.
