Learn about principled negotiation and how it differs from adversarial negotiation in this 4-day course. This hands-on training will discuss the genesis and dynamics of interpersonal conflict as well as negotiation theory and styles. Develop your skills for active listening, effective questioning, paraphrasing, reframing, and assertive speaking to sharpen your skills for effective negotiations.


Family law issues are the context for learning and application, but this course is open to lawyers from all practice areas and disciplines.


Interest Based Negotiations is one of the three courses necessary to become a collaborative professional. This course is recognized by collaborative law associations in Alberta.
