2024 "Lawyers' Play"

Sarah Dargatz
  Latitude Family Law LLP
   Edmonton, Alberta

The Players de Novo are a troupe of Edmonton and area lawyers and judges, who present a one-night theatre extravaganza in support of local theatre groups.

They return this year for their 17th show with a production of the Madwoman of Chaillot by Jean Giraudoux, Adapted by Maurice Valency.

It is a political satire where politicians, promoters, and prospectors are plotting to tear up the streets of Paris for oil. Only The Madwoman and her bohemian friends can stop them by staging a trial to determine their fate.

Come watch members of the bench and bar on stage at 7:30 pm on Friday, May 10, 2024. Tickets are $100 and include an invitation to a post-show gala reception, parking, and a $75 tax receipt from this year’s partner: Theatre Alberta.

It stars Mona Duckett as The Madwoman of Chaillot and featuring Jordan Achtymichuk, Josie Bauman, Tanzeel Bhaidani, Alexander (Sandy) Brophy, Katelynn Cave, D'Arcy DePoe, Rob Dunseith, James Elford, Melissa Erickson, Adam Halliday, Sara Hart, Conor Holash, Elizabeth Johnson, Stacey McPeek, Kevin Mott, Pat Paradis, Sarah Rossman, and Paul Welke. Plus “celebrity” guests!

Each person involved with the play is aiming to sell a certain number of tickets, so if you do buy a ticket and know someone in the play, please consider listing them as the person who recommended the show to you in the appropriate prompt under Attendee Information. (My connection is via James Elford, so if you don't know anyone, go ahead and list him!)
