Letter from the Minister re: date of valuation of family property

  Latitude Family Law LLP
   Edmonton, Alberta

I had contacted the Minister of Justice following the announcement of Bill 28 to express my concern that the date of valuation for the division of family property had not been changed. My key concern is the potential for overlapping claims by old and new partners. I also referenced ALRI's 2015 report recommending the date be changed. For anyone interested in this issue, the Minister's reply is attached.
